Hydrodynamics in laboratory flow-through agitated flocculation cell
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The production of drinking water is crucial for ensuring public health and quality of life. To investigate the hydrodynamics and its effect on flocculation efficiency, a laboratory model of a flow-through agitated flocculation cell was constructed. This model represents one segment of an agitated channel and is equipped with an agitating device that allows testing of various types of agitators at adjustable speeds. The results of numerical simulations of the hydrodynamics in the flow-through agitated cell obtained using CFD M-Star Software (M-Star Simulations, LLC) for different rotational speeds of a six-pitched blade impeller and various liquid flow rates through the cell were presented. Additionally, experimental results of homogenization for different speeds of the six-pitched blade impeller and liquid flow rates through the cell were presented.
