Narrative Authoring with Uncertain Time Inference

An intelligent approach to representing uncertainly specified time periods is described, which is applicable particularly to historical content. A categorization of temporal statements containing the most frequent expressions with respect to their accuracy is presented. The class structure for an appropriate data model supporting temporal reasoning has been designed. As an inference means it uses OCML language. An example of a temporal inconsistency in data annotated by means of temporal ontology is given that can be found using the prototype implementation of this approach. Dynamic Narrative Authoring Tool combines the use of the temporal inference engine with the language of Conceptual Graphs to describe narrative contents.
