Antenna Gain Measurement Using the Mirror Method in Time Domain

Presented single-antenna method of gain measurement is based on usage of flat reflector and gating function in time domain of PNA analyser. Antenna under test (AUT) is directed perpendicular to the reflector surface in sufficient disance from this reflector. Vector analyzer is set to the antenna reflection coefficient measurement with filtering out all responses except signal, which is returned from the flat reflector to the AUT. Frequency dependence of this gated signal is equivalent to the frequency dependence of transmitted signal of two antenna method in double distance. Measured gain of AUT was compared with the gain obtained from two antenna method.
