Utilization of the Ultra Wideband (UWB) systems in modern communications is a solution to increasing demands of capacity of the wireless channel. UWB technology uses completely different access mechanism to physical layer of the communication system, especially to the frequency spectrum. Transmitted data are not modulated on carrier frequency but they are using very short time domain pulses which are occupying wide frequency band. Technology is limited by power spectral density (PSD), neither this powerlimitation prevent interferences of the UWB system with the primary users. Recently, in the context of the effective frequency spectrum usage there is a hot topic called cognitive radio. This project is focused on utilization of the ultra wideband technology in the cognitive networks. These networks are able to be aware of its environment parameters and decide to improve its transmission parameters and minimize the interferences with primary users.
