Analysis of the Problems in HRTF Measuring

This paper deals with measuring HRTF and discuss the phenomena, which occurs when the measurement is done with different approaches. The most important things which strongly affect the measurement are the in-ear microphone attachment, choosing a proper measuring signal, the influence of the measuring microphone itself, and the difference between HRTF measured before or after the ear canal. The process of equalization the HRTF during creating virtually positioned sounds is also discussed.
