Case Study: Functional Verification of Multichannel Surface Electrode for Joint Patterns Investigation
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Investigation of joint patterns by determination of specific joint mobility is classically used to detect soft tissue pathology. Usual tests performed by physiotherapists rely on both passive and active ranges of motion. However, soft tissue pathology can also result in reactive voltage changes in skeletal muscles. Based on this fact previous study was conducted. That experiment focused on evaluation of extension and flex chains under artificial joint blocks using reflective heel pad. Using bipolar electrodes placed on the two heads of the muscle quadriceps femoris (vastus medialis and vastus lateralis), surface EMG signal was recorded. Due to the results new investigation approach has been proposed. It?s based on usage of multi-channel recording of surface EMG signals of muscle vastus medialis during maximum voluntary isometric extension. For this purpose new multi-channel electrode had to be designed. Unfortunately this electrode encounters problems with standard equipment for the me
