This paper describes turn of the 19th and 20th century in terms of electrification. It is focused on bringing electricity to Hruby Rohozec Castle that served as a typical residence of a noble family of that time. The counts family Des Fours-Walderode lived there from 17th century until the endoftheSecondWorldWarwhenthecastlewasconfiscated under the Benes decrees. Thanks to the photographic documentation from the beginning of the 20th century and mostly preserved depositary, it is possible to imagine the life in the castle at the time of electrification very well.
