DRONUMENT is a system for the documentation of historical monuments using a team of unmanned aerial vehicles. In cooperation with the Czech National Heritage Institute (NPÚ), we document the interiors of historical monuments. By deploying UAVs, the need for special infrastructure such as scaffolding is eliminated. The UAVs are a safe method for gathering information about the current state of ceiling paintings, frescos, and other areas with difficult accessibility. The UAVs are able to swarm and cooperate during the task. For example, one member acts as the main camera-equipped drone for filming while the other drones provide lighting to the scene.
