    The quality of the optical infrastructure is assessed according to the quality of the transmission parameters of the entire network as well as the individual components that make up the optical transmission system. The quality is demonstrated by measuring and verifying the key transmission parameters, while each parameter has defined limits. Each optical link must meet key parameters under test in order to be declared as high-quality. Therefore, we have developed a calibration set for both the single mode and multimode optical infrastructure within a project of Technology Agency of the Czech Republic - Metrology and quality control of optical infrastructure of 5G and VHCN networks (FW03010551). Calibration set includes calibration artefacts with defined values of the key optical transmission parameters. The particular parameters are precisely characterized by measuring methods defined in the standards. Besides, we have developed a polarization mode dispersion (PMD) source, which can be used for the verification of the device using general interferometry technique to measure the PMD. Furthermore, we have made a mode controller, fulfilling the standard EN 61280-1-4 ed.2, for the multimode systems to ensure correct launch conditions for the multimode fibers. In addition, the uncertainty for each measured parameter has been determined to provide reference values of particular parameter/calibration setup. Finally, the developed calibration kit represents a unique tool for technicians and operators and can be a significant support tool to the ISO 9001 standard quality assurance system.
