Analysis of a Visible Light Communication/Radio Frequency Sensor Network
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Wireless sensor networks play a crucial role in shaping the 6G era, enabling seamless connectivity and intelligent automation. In indoor settings, they transform spaces into smart environments that optimize efficiency, enhance safety, and adapt to user needs. This paper introduces a hybrid communication architecture that integrates two technologies visible light communication (VLC) for the downlink with radio-frequency for the uplink. This method alleviates radio spectrum congestion by shifting data traffic to the optical channel, improves energy efficiency by utilizing existing lighting for communication, and enhances security through the inherent properties of VLC. We model and simulate key aspects, including bit error rate, energy consumption and battery life. Our results demonstrate the feasibility of such systems for indoor environments.
