The history of technical creativity and innovation as a social process cannot be reduced to mere technological progress. The European intellectual tradition links rationality, science, and technology with the idea of social progress and situates innovation, including the use of digitalization and artificial intelligence, within broader social, political, and institutional contexts. Innovations emerge through the interaction of individuals, institutions, and social structures and are fundamentally shaped by the political and value frameworks of their time. The text contributes to a historically grounded understanding of innovation as a social and cultural phenomenon.
