Cycle Communication Network Planning from the Users' Point of View

Integration of cycling transport into general transport system of towns is one of the important objectives in Czech Republic during last few years. Therefore there's necessary for the present to suppose different behaviour of cyclists in local traffic. In order to find out these differences and to contribute to expansion of cycling transport in Czech towns simultaneously there was practised research in towns with the highest modal split of cycling transport, focused on present cyclists, that reflected the problems relating cycling network planning generally as well as possible methods of solution of particular design propositions. From the point of view of cyclists there was evaluated preference rate of different types of cycling communications, ways of cycling traffic solution on roundabouts and of two-way cycle traffic in one-way streets and margin of cyclists' safety on cycle lanes marked on carriageway in dependence on various method of parking places design.
