A safety in an integral sense represents a summary of measures and activities for ensuring the security and sustainable development of all basic public interests protected in the territory and in the whole our state. One of the unsatisfactory solved problems it is a transport of hazardous substances in the Czech Republic. At transporting hazardous substances there are arisen transport accidents involving the hazardous substances which are accompanied by explosions, fires, leaks of hazardous substances into the environment or a combination of the two to three of phenomena which has an impact on the protected interests in a traffic accident site and possibly as a consequence of internal linkages they seriously damage the environment surrounding the accident site. The article presents the basic facts about the accidents and the first results of a detailed investigation of accidents involving the hazardous substances obtained by methods of risk engineering; the What, If method is used.
