The article discusses the usage of MEDA (Maintenance Error Decision Aid) classification developed by Boeing for risk assessment processes in maintenance using risk-based indicators. The article presents the basics of indicators, description of subgroup calledrisk-based indicators and further development of the indicators based on the collection andanalysis of data obtained through company occurrence reporting system. This reporting system and investigation should be focused primarily on the causes, especially from the perspective of the contributing factors. Due to the legislative requirements for the events reporting and data collection and analysis is currently the MEDA methodology most appropriate for maintenance organizations. It serves, however, "only" as the base and must beenriched by other factors that occur during normal company operations.
