Various metal objects of art have been investigated by X-ray fluorescence analysis for the purpose of restoration by our laboratory at the CTU Prague, the most valuable one being the Reliquary of St. Maurus, an outstanding example of Romanesque goldsmithwork. Following these measurements, e.g., the sheets made of a silver-copper alloy were divided into five groups according to the ratio of both metals, which leads to the hypothesis that they are of different origin. Brass statues from the plague columnin Olomouc are another interesting example of artefacts measured to obtain the basis for restoration
