Lasers and applications
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Three aspects of lasers design and applications are being discussed: design of new lasers with new wavelengths and very short pulses, numerical modeling of laser beam interactions with matter and lasers applications to extremely accurate ranging of satellites by photon counting. Several lasers based on praseodymium have been designed and tested. Generation of ultrashort picosecond pulses and its amplification has been studied experimentally with Nd:YAG laser sources in mode-locked regime. Laser beam interaction with targets is modeled by ALE (Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian) hydrodynamical method implemented in PALE code which has been extended and improved. The PALE code has been used for simulations of chosen experiments on the PALS laser system. New version of photon counting detector optics has been designed and constructed. The capabilities of photon counting laser altimeter and Lidar have been investigated.
