Lack of experts and highly educated and skilled professionals in nuclear engineering in the world caused by fast aging of nuclear power plants and research new needs and opportunities to the universities and research reactors. Research reactors are suitable for education of students at all academic levels. An effective way how to provide the education and training at a research reactor is adaptation of the educational methodology to the initial student´s background level. Networking and close co-operation between research reactors at national and international levels, and sharing the experimental facilities are the latest trends which could help to solve the problem with nuclear knowledge gap.
