Fabrication of solid ZnCdO and ZnMgO solutions via gamma radiolysis
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The fabrication of Zn1-xCdxO and Zn1-xMgxO from aqueous solutions induced by ?-irradiation was studied. Set of samples containing ZnO with variable content of Cd or Mg was prepared by gamma irradiation of solutions containing zinc, magnesium or cadmium nitrates and ammonium formate, with subsequent separation of solid phase, drying and heat treatment. Gamma radiation dose of 130 kGy was used. Under the irradiation, crystalline precursor was formed, consisting of hydrozincite. After the calcination at 500°C, the transition to the crystalline Zn1-xCdxO and Zn1-xMgxO occurred. The phase purity and linear size of the crystallites were determined by the X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD). The content of Cd in the solid phase was determined by the X-ray fluorescence (XRF). For the determination of Mg amount in the solid phase, the ICP-MS was used. The amount of parasitic CdO/MgO phases (if any) was determined; the content of Cd/Mg in the solid solution could be evaluated by comparing XRF data a
