Fluoride-type crystals (CaF2, SrF2) doped with neodymium Nd3+ and codoped with buer ions for breaking clusters of active ions, have become re- cently an interesting alternative as a laser active media for the diode-pumped mode-locked lasers mainly because of broad emission spectra as well as longer uorescence lifetime in comparison with widely used materials as Nd:YAG or Nd:YVO4. In comparison with Nd:glass, SrF2 and CaF2 crystals have bet- ter thermal conductivity enabling higher power operation in spite of the fact, that this conductivity decreases with Nd3+ doping concentration. These crys- tals are therefore a promising alternative for the Nd:glass in subpicosecond mode-locked laser systems. The femtosecond Nd,Y:SrF2 laser generating 181 and 97 fs pulses was reported recently [1,2] in a Ti:sapphire pumped system. For practical applications the diode pumping is desirable as it is less complex. We have reported ecient diode-pumped free-running continuous and quasi continuous operation of laser with TGT grown Nd,Y:SrF2 crystal [3] and also mode-locked operation of this active medium using quasi-continuous pump diode with high peak power resulting in generation of pulses in the sub 100 picosecond range [4]. Recently we achieved continuously mode locked opera- tion of Nd,Y:SrF2 laser pumped by low power 796 nm multimode laser diode and mode-locked using semiconductor saturable absorber, generating pulses with duration of 0.9 ps [5]. In present contribution we report operation of this laser with chirped mirror for GVD compensation generating continuous train of 250 fs long pulses with total output power of 64 mW at repetition rate of 142 MHz.
