Extended Safety Reassessment of Training Reactor VR-1 with New National Nuclear Law
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Requirements set by new Czech nuclear law (Act No. 263/2016 Coll.) were applied on all documents that are necessary for license application for operation of Training reactor VR-1. The license was successfully obtained at the end of the year 2017, and therefore the Training reactor VR-1 is the first research reactor in Czech republic evaluated according to new nuclear law. Content of VR-1 Safety analyses report for operation was significantly enhanced in order to meet new requirements (and recommended methods). New models were developed for RELAP5 thermohydraulic safety calculation that are analysing all postulated initiating events. These events are based on analyses done in 1988, but experience gained in last 30 year of operation was projected into them, and it led to their realistic re-evaluation.
