The research described in detail the origin, development, design and realisation of the Dancing Building and the new design process method of Frank Gehry, that was developed during this project, which successfully combines traditional physical 3D modeling with computer digital 3D modeling, exploiting the advantages of both systems. Dancing Building became the first project-prototype on which this new design process method was developed and tested. A fundamental discovery of the case study was the identification of the most likely reason why the Dancing Building so radically exceeded the boundaries of its building plot.
