Tina Saaby: Copenhagen – A City for People
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Copenhagen’s vision is to become the world’s best city to live in – a metropolis for people. Livability is one of the common denominators of all architecture and urban development in the future Copenhagen. Thus, the Copenhagen City life Strategy considers urban life before urban spaces, and urban spaces before buildings. The last ten years of city development with a strong focus on urban life has taught us that to address the human scale is essential in developing a sustainable and livable city. In the lecture I would like to present citywide strategies and project cases from Copenhagen and discuss how The City facilitates the development process. Tina Saaby has been the Chief City Architect of Copenhagen since September 2010. She inspires, facilitates and advices the politicians and City Administration. Her responsibility is to help define architectural guidelines and visions in developing the city based on The City of Copenhagen’s Architectural Policy. Tina Saaby graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture in 1997. She has many years of experience as an architect, partly as Partner of the architectural firm Witraz Architects in Copenhagen and was the former Vice President of the Danish Architects´ Association. Tina Saaby is Visiting Professor at Sheffield University and external examiner at The University of Roskilde, The University of Copenhagen and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation. Furthermore Tina is the Chairman of the Advisory board at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation.
