The study deals with rationale, design and development of a novel diagnostic system for rehabilitation of upper and lower limbs. The designed system is an instrument for measuring trajectory of a patient’s limb motion in the rehabilitative practice. There is a lot of measuring instruments presently used for monitoring outcome of rehabilitation. Nevertheless, these instruments are usually used for measurement of a range of the motion only. Some other important parameters of the motion such as a smoothness of the motion, a tremble of the limbs, circumduction etc. are usually not recorded. The design of the instrument which is able to record all of these parameters was the main aim of the study.
