The aim of the paper is to propose a decision support tool in the procurement process of medical devices in relation to the conditions of a regional hospital. In the paper we will identify key issues that are typical for decision making about investment in medical technologies. The application part includes an analysis of decision-making criteria in the procurement of medical devices and subsequently a description of a tool for evaluating and assigning priorities to choosing the best option. The tool is designed to consider all key factors, from the purchase price, service and maintenance costs, and consumables as well as the scoring performance used by insurance companies. The aim of the tool will be to propose a rigorous process that will help the management of the regional hospital to consider factors that have an influence on the decision and support the active involvement of all stakeholders in the hospital that have so far only participated passively in the procurement of medical technology.
