The load bearing structure of a recently built department store in Prague consist of a flat (double ribbed) reinforced concrete slabs supported directly on columns located within span distances 12x12 m. Slabs above the first and second storey cantileverout by 3 m beyond the edge columns. After few years in service serious performance defects of cladding, interior partitions, and other secondary elements had been observed.
