The article deals with the life and work of Václav Vavřinec Pošík, undoubtedly one of the most significant personalities who distinctively contributed to development of electrical engineering in the Czech lands in the first half ot the twentieth century, and who helped the electrotechnology teaching to boom at universities. His activity can be divided into three fields: the first is his work in industry, the second is his scientific-research activity and the last is his pedagogical work.
