Economic Aspects and Contradictions of Sustainable Housing
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Sustainable housing policy, of course, clearly affects the level of social cohesion in society. The availability, quality and technological parameters of housing have a significant impact on the economic sustainability of cities, fundamentally affect the competitiveness of settlements and their position in the national and global economy. In recent years, smart cities have been the focus of attention. Municipal representations and, above all, the corporate sector concentrate mainly on technological concepts (ICT, energy, transport). In condition of the European Union, however, housing must be an integral part of smart cities projects. New paradigms of settlement planning show, that the economic sustainability of cities is affected by many non-economic factors. These factors include, above all, building rules and regulations, the policy of protection of historic buildings, the idea concept of urban master plan, the ability of holistic strategic planning or the support of social housing and its legal framework. All these aspects are related to housing and all can affect the economy more than traditional instruments of economic policy. The contribution reflects before the all a situation in Czechian and Slovakia, but part of the results is possible accepted as actual for other countries too.
