The article is focused on usage of sophisticated sensors like the fibre Bragg gratings (FBG) as an alternative to classical strain gages for wooden structure monitoring purposes. In the introduction a general overview of uniform FBG is brought. The mainpart of the paper describes the FBG comparison measurement on bending of the wooden beam structure. Further the obtained results are evaluated and analysed.
