Numerical and Experimental Loading Test of Subtle Textile Reinforced Concrete Bench

  • Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

The aim of this abstract is to present results of numerical and experimental loading test to verify the load-bearing capacity of a concrete bench and its correct reinforcement design. The original look of the thin concrete bench was created thanks to the modern carbon technical textiles as a reinforcement. The bench was made of two parts firmly connected to each other. The first invisible part was a slab placed underground as a foundation of the bench, and the second visible part was placed above the ground with the static action as a once-angled console. Textile reinforced concrete is a new modern material. One of its benefits is absence of necessary concrete cover because of the high durability of composite textile reinforcement used in experiment. It allows to create extreme subtle concrete slabs and construction. This make textile reinforced concrete more and more popular. The load test has been designed so that the bench was loaded at the point that exerts the highest internal stresses. So the load was applied on the end of a once-angled console, exactly 50 mm from the cantilever edge. The monitored values were the applied force and the vertical displacement on the end of the once-angled console. Used measurement equipment was Inova linear actuators series, specifically AS 10/63 due to maximum expected reaction less than 50 kN. Testing procedure was performed with controlled constant load speed 2.0 mm per minute after 28 days of specimens hardening. The loading process continued until the specimen failure The destructive test was conducted experimentally and also using a numerical model. The numerical model was created in software Atena Science GiD as a 2D model and all necessary material parameters were determined by previous experimental tests. Nine linear elements were adjusted along the height 40 mm of the cantilever beam to correctly model and detect the cracks development.
