Construction and commissioning of the tracker for the SuperNEMO Demonstrator Module and Unfolding the 2νββ spectrum of 100Mo from the NEMO-3 experiment
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The SuperNEMO experiment will search for the neutrinoless double beta decay of 82Se, with an expected half-life sensitivity of >10^26 years. The first stage of the experiment, the SuperNEMO Demonstrator Module, is expected to achieve a half-life sensitivity of 6.6x10^24 years after running for 2.5 years with 7 kg of source isotope. Key results from the construction, and commissioning of the wire tracker for the Demonstrator Module are described, and the drift distance-time relationship of each of the first three quarters measured. The two-neutrino double-beta decay half-life of 100Mo has been measured as 7.01±0.01(stat)±0.46(syst)x10^18 years using a sample of 6914 g of isotope measured for 5.25 years by the precursor experiment, NEMO-3. The summed electron energy spectrum was unfolded, allowing for a limit of -1.12x10^-1 < å3_of < 6.95x10^-2 MeV to be placed on the Lorentz Violating operator å3_of. A further unfolded distribution in the three dimensions of summed energy, energy asymmetry, and the opening angle of the emitted electrons has been produced, allowing subsequent experiment-agnostic analyses.
