The aim of this tool is to provide a review of current methods for testing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) against Chemical (C), Biological (B), Radiological (R) or Nuclear (N) hazards and overview of approaches regarding using the PPEs in varioussituations.C, B, RN protective clothing can be selected properly only when performance data indicate that their resistance against expected hazards lasts for the duration of anticipated, worst-case exposures and conditions. This resistance has to be thoroughly tested by the manufacturers offering and supplying the PPEs to the market. Wide number of standards and practices needed for protective clothing evaluation is part of overall safety and health safety policy.
