Evaluation of the thermal comfort during the work in protective ensembles against CBRN agents
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Poster at 13th CBRNe Protection Symposium, 24-26 September 2019, Malmö, Sweden Personal protective ensembles are necessary equipment intended for protection of responders dealing with situation at risk of dangerous substances in the environment. However, the high level of protection significantly influences the body heat exchange and thus may cause considerable physiologic strain to the responder. This paper describes influence of thermal insulation characteristics of various types of protective ensembles on heat strain of humans. Characteristics of four types of protective ensembles were measured using 34-zones thermal manikin (light impermeable, heavy impermeable, filtration and firefighter ensemble). The same types of protective ensembles were examined for inducing heat strain with a group of volunteers (men and women) performing physical activity in climatic chamber under various conditions. The results will be used as inputs for optimization of thermophysiological mathematical models for prediction of human body response on work in CBRN protective ensembles under various ambient conditions.
