Composites are materials that have been increasingly used over the past several years in many branches of human activity. The processing of an unsaturated polyester resins brings some technological problems. One of these is the quality of the surface anddimensional instability of products, which pass from a heterogeneous system of fibre matrices. This is influenced primarily by volume changes of the polymer matrices during the curing process, the determination of which is essential for predicting the quality of the surface of the particular blend. The addition of PVAc to the resin may decrease or even remove these problems. The shrinkage behaviour of unsaturated polyester resin with varying amounts of PVAc was investigated in this work. The influenceof PVAc on fractural behaviour was also observed in order to determine the breadth of practical use for these modified pulled products.
