Complex studies of past climates and palaeoenvironments have witnessed considerable developments, in order to understand present-day ecosystems and predict the extent and consequences of future climatic changes. Continuation of the multidisciplinary studies as a part of the PAGES research program will broaden our knowledge of past environmental processes and contribute to our understanding of the present climate.
