The Choice of the Suitable Bacterial Culture for Trichloroethylene Biodegradation
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Obtaining of the bacterial culture with the high ability to remove trichloroethylene (TCE) is described. Phenol growing isolates were capable of cometabolic degradation of TCE and their transformation capacities ranged from 0.3 to 3.1 mg TCE/g biomass. The most active isolates were chosen for the TCE biodegradation tests using isolate couples. The transformation capacities of such defined consortiums were measured and compared, but in most cases their biodegradation capabilities were considerably lowerthan in individual isolates. In the next part of the work the culture with high efficiency was isolated and its sproperties were determined. The isolate designated RF2 has the pH-optimum b etween 7.5-8.0 and after consuming primary substrate it is possible to degrade TCE for 24 hours. Its transformation capacity was determined to 14.7 mg TCE/g biomass.
