The doctoral thesis focuses on the study of rheological behaviour of polymer blends and composites based on modified PP matrix. The first part (Papers I-III) deals with PP/PET blends compatibilised with maleic anhydride. A positive influence of compatibilisation was determined from finer phase structure, and also increased values of rheological properties, which result from enhanced interactions between blend components. Moreover, modification by elastomers leads to a significant increase in viscosity,which can find an application for instance in extrusion of mixed plastic waste. Besides polypropylene/polyethylene terephthalate blends, maleic anhydride-modified PP matrix along with aminosilane coupling agent was used in glass fibre reinforced composites (Paper IV). It was found that surface treatment increased rheological properties, and this behaviour became even more pronounced for composites containing modified PP, which is caused by increased interfacial adhesion between fibres an
