Composites of electrically active particles dispersed in a non-conducting polymer matrix rank among smart materials with unique electrical properties. They can be used in many technological applications, e.g. in various microelectronic devices, antennas,wave guides, as antistatic layers or microwave absorbing materials for electromagnetic interference shielding. In contrast to conventional materials, the polymer composites can provide "tailored" material properties through combination of components. Inthis work, designing as well as analysis of such composites with respect to their possible applications is considered. The first section of the thesis focuses on the investigation of composite materials consisting of non-conducting epoxy resin matrix filled with short carbon fibers or graphite particles coated with the layer of polyaniline base.
