Influence of the extracellular polysacharide on the biodegradation of poly (vinyl alcohol)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of this study was to evaluate influence of extracellular polysacharide Xanthan on the biodegradation of PVAL and their aqueous solutions and only on the basis of results subsequently carry out mixing and testing of blended plastics. The part of prepared aqueous samples were also protein hydrolysate and glycerin, which in the previous studies confirmed positive influence on poly(vinyl alcohol) biodegradation itself and qualities of polymer blends. From obtained results, it can be stated that Xanthan as a significant element of above mentioned aqueous solutions did not have considerable negative influence on the biodegradation of PVAL itself. Only a slight biodegradation slowdown of PVAL by 18, 2 % occurred in comparison with the biodegradation speed of pure PVAL. The percentage representation of other modifiers in suspension did not have any influence on the specific speed of biodegradation. Thus the final blends composition can be adapted to technological requirements and utili
