Three-dimensional Scanning for the Morphology of the Working Parts of a Horse's Back
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Reason for performing study: Precise determination of the shape of horse back saddle area is the basic precondition for anatomically correct saddle tree production and consequently correctly fitted saddle. Currently, the saddle trees are produced only onthe bases of historical experience of saddlers and they are only individually adapted to a particular horse. Hypothesis or objectives: The aim of this study was to construct a device for measurement of horse back saddle area and subsequent digitalization into 3D system. Moreover, there was an effort to determine horse back morphology of different breeds on the base of statistical process. Conclusion: Each single horse breed has its specific back shape, which significantly differs from other breeds. Thehorse back shape of individual horsed of the same breed does not differ significantly from the average data of horse back shape. The saddle tree produced on this model should fit at least 75 % of horse of the appropriate horse breed.
