The statistical correlation of E modulus, tensile strength and permeability properties at polymer nanonocomposites
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Selected materials and process conditions are important for polymer matrix and nanofiller compounding[1]. To evaluate their effect on the properties of the polymer nanocomposites, samples were prepared using the EVA and Surlyn matrix and MMT nanofiller with two different technologies, i.e. under different process conditions. Mechanical and gas permeability properties were evaluated for prepared samples. It was found that for all prepared filler samples the properties were improved, different for various montmorillonite modifications. The process conditions also influenced the results; better values of all observed properties were obtained for mixing the materials in a twin screw extruder. To evaluate statistical significance[2] and mutual correlations of individual variables, statistical evaluation was performed by several methods. It has been found which combination of properties and process conditions brings the most significant improvement in the endpoints. The higher mechanical properties, the lower gas permeability.
