PLA/Clay Nanocomposites for Packaging Application
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In the present work, the influence of clay fillers on the PLA matrix was studied, especially from the viewpoint of the gas transport properties and the material morphology. As polymer matrix was use Polylactic acid PLA2003D. The nanofillers in the study were Nanofil 116, Cloisite SE 3010 and Garamite in loading 5%. For PLA/clay mixture preparation a corotating twin screw extruder ZSK 25 (Coperion GmbH, Stuttgart, Germany), temperature range 160°C-200°C was used. In the next step the PLA/clay films were prepared using single-screw extruder type PlastiCorder (Brabender, Germany) with a flat extrusion die (width: 250 mm) at a processing temperature 160°C-200°C, providing thin films of about 0,3 mm thickness. Due to the high potential of using PLA films in the food and packaging industry, the essential characteristic of the material is the permeation of gases and vapors.
