PVB Film from Laminated Glass Recycling - Influence on MFI and Mechanical Properties

  • Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

Samples were prepared from commercial BUTACITE G, homogenized PVB films from various car manufacturers obtained by the wet delamination process. Samples of safety windscreens were delaminated by the using the so-called wet method. For this method of glass delamination the NaOH solution was used. Furthermore, commercially available recycled PVB product was used obtained by a dry method. Both recycled PVB types were used to prepare samples mixed with the original PVB in several ratios in order to find the influence of recycled PVB addition on the final properties of prepared mixtures. Prepared delaminated polymer films were homogenized on a COLLIN W 100 T double roll machine. Origin and recycled PVB were mixed in the chosen ratios on the laboratory kneader in the melt. Then the residual glass content, melt index and mechanical properties were evaluated for these samples. It has been found that the PVB recycled material obtained by the wet method exhibits better values than those obtained by the dry delamination method.
