Globalization a double edge sword delivering both opportunity and threat. The importation of e-waste into developing countries like Nigeria has become a lucrative hotbed business which has created employment for the unemployed youths. This has exposed the weak legislations and poor waste management system in Nigeria. This paper examined the threats or opportunities posed by the influx of e-waste into Nigeria using a qualitative and quantitative approach based on a survey conducted in Lagos, Nigeria. The findings revealed that 80 percent of the obsolete and non-functioning EEE end up at the open dumpsites which constitutes environmental and health hazards.
