The article describes the use of advanced methods of hash functions for security of sensitive user data of information system. The first part of the article focuses on the principles, characteristics and technical parameters of the best known and most used hash function. The next section describes the advantages of hash functions and the reasons for their practical applications. The final section is made a summary of the problem and evaluation of reliability of individual features.
