The publication has an empirical character and presents the findings and results of the research on the communication skills of pre-school age children. In the theoretical part are presented the conceptual and theoretical starting points of the research as well as the specifics of the research methodology. The empirical part has the character of a qualitative research survey, which is realized through observation. The main objective of the research was to analyze the communication skills of pre-school children. For the needs of research, a set of 39 didactic games for the development of communication skills of children through pre-school pedagogy students at Tomas Bata University in Zlin. The set supports mainly the main areas involved in the proper development of communication. These are auditory and visual perceptions, phonematic differentiation, motoring of speech organs, fine motoring, breathing and vocal area. The results of the research reveal other possibilities to effectively work with nursery children and develop communication skills from the position of future educators. In addition, they also motivate children to implement and validate didactic games.
