The purpose of the paper is to present the technical equipment (vehicles) used to overcome height differences that are held by the Fire and Rescue Service in the Slovak Republic for the evacuation in the event of a threat to human life and health. The authors focus specifically on the division of categories of technical equipment and discuss the technical parameters of selected compositions as well as methods used by firefighters during operations. The risks associated with their use are also pointed out.
