L’Articolo si concentra sulla ricostruzione e sul destino della collezione delle notizie di Granduca di Toscana Pietro Leopoldo, che fanno parte del fondo archivistico dell'Archivio di Famiglia degli Asburgo di Toscana. Questi resoconti dei viaggi di ispezione del Granduca di Toscana tra il 1765 e il 1790 e i manoscritti sono tra i fondi più preziosi dell'archivio di famiglia, il cui studio permette di comprendere la situazione in Toscana dopo l'ingresso nella successione secondaria degli Asburgo dopo gli ultimi sovrani della dinastia dei Medici (1737), sotto i quali il Granducato fu devastato. Il fondo manoscritti di Pietro Leopoldo comprende anche importanti fonti sulla storia della famiglia Medici, che vengono presentate in modo più dettagliato.

The study focuses on the reconstruction and fate of the collection of Peter Leopold's sessions, which are part of the archival fund of the Family Archive of the Tuscan Habsburgs. These reports of the Grand Duke's inspection trips in Tuscany between 1765 and 1790 and the manuscripts are among the most valuable collections of the family archive, the study of which allows an understanding of the situation in Tuscany after the accession of the Habsburg secondary succession after the last rulers of the Medici dynasty (1737), under which the Grand Duchy was devastated. The Peter Leopold manuscript collection also includes important sources on the history of the Medici family, which are presented in more detail.
