Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The questionnaire based survey of a random population sample in the city Ostrava included 3,000 inhabitants aged 25-70 years. The total response rate was 21.1%; alike as in other questionnaire surveys more people with a higher education participated. Theparticular studies were realized: the review of publications dealing with the response rate of questionnaire surveys; the study of the course of returning the questionnaires by SES factors; and the identification of the target population groups for health intervention using the method of the regression trees. The representativity of the sample was tested by GIS comparison with the Census data, the reliability was guaranted by repeatability study. Overall results demonstrate that health status was affected foremost by age, was better in groups with higher education and in people with an active life style. Leisure time activities increased with education, but risk behaviour was in no relationship with education.
