Evaluation of construction companies in the period of crisis in the Czech construction industry

The paper focuses on the construction industry and its analysis from an economic-statistical point of view. Its aim is to evaluate companies in this sector in the crisis years after 2008, specifically in the crisis years 2010, 2014 and also in the standard year 2017 on the basis of selected indicators of net working capital and indebtedness and liquidity. Subsequently, companies in this sector in 2010 and 2014 are evaluated on the basis of a selected bankruptcy model - Altman&#039;s Z-score. Based on the calculations, it can be concluded that the compilation of Z´´ score models is influenced by whether selected indicators of accounting units are assessed on the basis of average or median. Furthermore, the hypothesis was confirmed that the Z´´ score results in the analyzed year 2014 will be more favorable for all construction companies according to the size of the entity than in 2010. Access to financing plays a very important role in every company and is reflected in its efficiency and overall growth. . Therefore, research in this area is necessary and the issue may lead potential investors to decide on their future activities.
