Several rescue excavations has been carried out during recent years in the immediate vicinity and right within the grounds of the cultural monument "the former Jewish cemetery- known as Jewish Garden " Their realization has always been related to construction activities in this part of the metropolis.This scientifically and socially sensitive subject involve professional assistance of archaeologists each time.Undertaken field works among other things have helped to refine the course of the northern boundary of the former Jewish necropolis, revealed a collection of more than twenty fragments of supremely medieval tombstones and prove early medieval settlement prior to sepulcral activities of the Jewish community in Prague. Special attention is paid to the fundamental analysis of inscriptions on Jewish stelae.
